Hi, I'm Shannon, thanks for dropping by my page.

A North Carolina Native, born in Wilmington and living in Hampstead for the past 28 years, I definitely know my way around this town and all of the surrounding ones. It definitely has it's perks as a photographer. I have two of the cutest kiddos and a super hard working husband. Since I was tiny, I mean early enough to walk and talk I loved posing for the camera and taking pictures, I always had my dads Polaroid in my hands capturing anything and everything. My whole life growing up I kept disposable cameras in my bookbags, purses or pockets. Summers were spent doing makeup and hair, then setting up photo or video shoots with my friends. I knew ART was my passion.  When I graduated High School in 2004, I followed my dream of being in the beauty/art industry by attending college to receive my Aesthetics Degree. I was licensed in makeup and all things skin care. I shortly realized that path was not the one for me. I loved the beauty industry but knew I needed something more creative but I couldn't figure out what it was so I patiently waited, knowing when it hit me I would know.

After I was married I started working for Olan Mills, the original one in University Landing. I quickly became advanced to a studio photographer and knew that I was falling in love with my job, I was good. Clients requested me and I was one of the two main photographers that was moved to the new studio when it opened inside of Belks. I was trained and attended courses through Olan Mills to become better at my art.  I really loved my job of taking photos but I hated the pressure selling that came along with it. I became pregnant with my first child and quickly realized I did not want to work every weekend and holidays. I wanted to be home with her. It was bittersweet leaving that job as it was the first job I had had that let me be artistic every day, but becoming a stay at home mom after my daughter was born was very important to my family.

Since then I have always been the one that had the camera around my neck at family events or received the phone call from friends and family to photograph them for a special occasion. My husband jokes that my children hate having their photo taken because I am always bugging them to smile or saying "just one more".  Every time I picked up that camera and started shooting I felt like the world stopped around me and it is only my subject and I.

As I started direct the Spot Festival Scholarship Pageant back in 2013, I took my girls on a six hour photo shoot for our year's portraits. It was amazing how fast those six hours passed and how much fun we had. I then decided that I wanted to photograph more, I wanted to photograph every day. And that's what I started doing. My photography skills have grown so much in just the past 6 years that I have been working on my own. That is something I am proud of. Making your families memories last a lifetime is what I want to do. I am honored you are considering me to help you customize the perfect session and experience.

Since I have been on my own, I have a remarkable returning client base, I have been featured in many online magazine and was just recently published in a printed magazine. My work has been featured in local businesses and tons of clients homes.  I have been nominated for Wilmington's Best Lifestyle Photographer and competed and won many awards through a national photography competition called Shoot & Share. My work is even currently featured on the World Renowned Shoe Designer Mark Defang's website.

There is so much beauty in this world that would be missed and forgotten if there is no one standing behind that camera and I don't want to miss a second of it!

Thank you for allowing me the opportunity to preserve your families precious moments!
